Jamie

'Ali Baba and the Forty Theives'

In the first lesson the whole class got straight to work re-capping the whole story and remembering the transitions, Que lines and timing movements right.
We then started to add more character to Kasim (Jonny) and Ali Baba (David) and creating the story around them two main characters. They made a lot of progress in this rehearsal, while me and the rest of the cast sat as an audience giving feed back and ideas on how they could improve.

We then attempted to create the scene where Kasim is cut into four. Jamie came up with an abstract idea, were a long red cloth would be past round a semi-circle created by the cast, with Kasim stood in the middle. When the cloth had reached the end of the semi-circle and everyone had hold of it, the people on the ends would run around Jonny (Kasim) and through the middle of the doors, still holding the fabric, while the rest of the cast let go of the fabric and followed Teri, Bradley and Jonny behind the doors. With this we hoped to make it look like we had killed Kasim (Jonny). Creating this was a very stressful procedure and took nearly an hour to finalise, when it should of only taken 10 minuets.
By the end of the lesson everyone, including myself, had lost interest and wasn't giving it energy and the commitment that it needed to be completed.
